Fun fact re: Iron Man 3

If you liked the art around the Mandarin or some if the art in Tony’s house, you can pay your respects to the St. Pete art scene. Bask was hired at the request of RDJ to do a majority of the art for the film - some recreations of earlier works and some completely new pieces. I am not fucking around when I tell you St. Pete is where it’s at. Even Iron Man knows.

Before Muammar Qaddafi’s departure, artistic expression in Libya had one face: Muammar Qaddafi. Painting meant depicting the ruler’s revolutions on canvas. Singing meant praising Qaddafi through poetic rhythms. Literature meant studying the dictator’s political philosophy in his famous Green Book.
But after a life of forced silence under Qaddafi, Libyans and Libyan artists have a lot to say.
On the ground in Tripoli, Pulitzer grantee Ellen Knickmeyer witnessed a splash of limitless creativity in every corner of Libya’s capital. Weekly Friday art exhibitions, neighborhood break-dancing mobs, and elaborate graffiti drawings splatter through the streets, filling the urban art scene.

Back to books, indeed. Spent almost all day curled up with The Magician King, wondering why it had taken me so long to dive into it.

Nintendo custom boardwalk cabinets

bitshare:

Artist Donald Kennedy loves video games, so much so he creates some magnificent art figurines of tons of video game characters and scenes. You can see a few on his website Kody Koala. He made some cool custom Nintendo boardwalk cabinets of Mario the Iron Claw Game, Wario the Fortune Teller and a custom Elecman (Megaman) Cabinet.

All Natural Graffiti

Unlike spray paint, moss graffiti is all natural and healthy to work with. You can paint words or images, and the moss fills in like magic! It’s easy as pie to whip up a batch of moss paint.
Here’s how, in your blender, combine:
One can of cheap beer or 1 1/2 cups buttermilk
A few handfuls of moss
One teaspoon of sugar
Blend until the mixture is smooth, and you’re ready to get painting! You can use a brush to paint your moss onto concrete walls, rocks, or brick. Mist the moss once a day to help it thrive, and soon your green graffiti will take hold! If you’re looking to take this project to the streets, use caution- we don’t want to be responsible for any vandalism charges!

Will be doing this in the garden for sure.

About

Avatar The blog formerly known as Minty Fresh 2.0. Thoughts, quotes and tidbits that I find while traipsing about the intertubes. I tend to treat this as my internet scrapbook, so there's no telling what might show up. If you're new here, welcome! Make yourself at home, the bourbon's over there.
