[Audio Slideshow] Comedian Lewis Black At Occupy Wall Street
Comedian Lewis Black, most notable for his “Back In Black” segments on Comedy Central’s “The Daily Show” program, gave Turnstyle News an interview during the Occupy Wall Street protests on October 5, 2011. Standing on the sidelines of Foley Square, Black was virtually unnoticed by the revelers around him, smoking a cigarette and trying to capture the events for himself on his mobile phone.
Turnstyle reporter Charlie Foster caught up with Black and gathered his thoughts on the growing movement.
I worry (as someone who was an adult in the 1960s) that young people will see The Playboy Club and think that this is what life was like back then and that Hefner, as he also says in his weird, creepy voice-over, was in fact “changing the world, one Bunny at a time.”
So I would like to say this:
1. Trust me, no one wanted to be a Bunny.
2. A Bunny’s life was essentially that of an underpaid waitress forced to wear a tight costume.
3. Playboy did not change the world.

[S]omeone had the idea of introducing children to a real scientist after they had drawn one, and then asking them to have another go at drawing. One of my favourite examples is of the schoolgirl who initially drew a man with frizzy hair and a white coat, but afterwards depicted a smiling young woman holding a test tube. Above it is the word “me”. I still find myself choking up when I show it.
